Healing

January and February have been slightly overwhelming at times, but I also found some clarity by looking back at 2018 and planning ahead for an exciting 2019.

To wind down after a busy and long day, my husband and I love watching films based on true stories and also documentaries on Netflix. The one that had the most impact on me was probably Heal. It features stories from spiritual leaders, physicians and those with chronic illnesses, revealing the powerful connection between mind, body, soul and health.

This documentary takes us on a scientific and spiritual journey where we learn that our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions have a huge impact on our health and ability to heal.

As the documentary suggests, latest science reveals that we are not victims of unchangeable genes, nor should we buy into a scary prognosis. The fact is we have more control over our health and life than we have been taught to believe. This film may empower you with a new understanding of the miraculous nature of the human body and the extraordinary healer within us all.

Those close to me know that I was diagnosed with a chronic, incurable digestive illness many years ago. I decided not to accept that I’d have to take medications for the rest of my life and live with that condition. I fundamentally changed my diet, my mindset, and took full control and responsibility for my own health and wellbeing, looking at traditional doctors as consultants to whom I’d turn to for diagnosis, not necessarily treatment.

It took me a little over 2 years to get rid of my medications completely, and have lived a happy and healthy life for 4 years now with no sign of the disease whatsoever.

Heal therefore really resonated with me, and I hope you’ll find it worthwhile to watch too.

Thank you very much for reading, take care of yourself.

Love,
